2013 - Reykjavík, Iceland
Holy crap is it cold and windy!
Daylight until 11pm, bars open until 4am. Volcanic, treeless, and did I mention cold? Touring waterfalls, geysers, steam vents, the border of the tectonic plates, and seeing the volcano Eyjafjallajökull was quite interesting.
We took a dip in the Blue Lagoon (who doesn't) and we drove quads around for a day. Ice climbing on the glacier was a highlight, and harder than it looks. Snorkeling in the Silfra crevasse was interesting, and so was eating Minke whale (we decided to avoid fermenting shark).
Icelandic golf in the links courses was a nice treat, even if we had to wear toques and long johns.
